Canadian Certified Counsellor
Life often brings us to crossroads… moments of transition, uncertainty, or struggle where the next step isn’t clear. In those times, whether you’re facing stress, relationship challenges, or old habits that no longer serve you, it can feel exhausting and overwhelming to sort through it all. If you’ve found your way here, it may be because you’re ready for a space where your experiences are taken seriously, your emotions are honoured, and you don’t have to shoulder everything on your own.
I approach counselling as a collaborative and compassionate process. Clients tell me I’m easy to talk to, patient, and warm. I also believe therapy doesn’t have to be all serious all the time… we might laugh and cry in the very same hour! In our sessions, we may explore your thoughts and emotions, identify patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and develop practical skills and tools to help you overcome challenges. At the same time, I’ll highlight your unique strengths and resilience to help you reconnect with the resources you already carry.
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Science in cellular, molecular, and microbial biology from the University of Calgary. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a cancer biology researcher, and I spent 15 years as a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, where I owned and operated a successful small business. Altogether, I bring more than 25 years of experience in the health and helping professions, a beautiful blend of scientific knowledge with a deep commitment to human connection. This path has inspired me to value curiosity, lifelong learning, and the importance of genuine and supportive relationships.
Beyond counselling, I’m a partner and proud mom of two adult children… experiences that continue to inform how I understand life’s complexities. I love hosting dinner parties, sharing good food, and spending meaningful time with friends and family. I also find joy in yoga, golf, skiing, travel, and golden retrievers. These aspects of my life bring balance and naturally influence the way I present myself in my work with clients.
If my approach resonates with you, I’d love to connect and explore how counselling could support you.
